How it Works
We use multiple levels of spam and antivirus filtering. Initially, your email is scanned by an anti-virus filter (Clam-AV); then is is processed by a Bayesian (statistical) spam filter (Spam Assassin).

Then, we provide a challenge/response spam filter (Active Spam Killer). The challenge/response filter "challenges" unknown senders; since spammers don't use valid return addresses, challenges to spam are rarely answered. Unknown senders who send you email need to "confirm" their initial email to you; after they do, they are "whitelisted" - meaning their email comes through to you immediately. We provide our own Web-based front end management tool which allows easy editing of your whitelist (desired senders) as well as a "blacklist" (permanently barred spammers) and "ignorelist" (email from senders on the ignorelist will be deleted automatically).

What kind of results can I expect?
The initial test account using these tools went from literally hundreds (300 to 600) spam emails per day to practically zero. Every so often, a spammer "confirms" the challenge email; additionally, fake "mailer daemon" messages can get through. However, it's easy to edit your whitelist and blacklist, thus removing spammers who confirm their email; and your email program can be set to easily filter "mailer daemon" messages.

Who is it for?
Our service is both for individuals and business who have a spam problem or want to avoid one in the future. For individuals, we can provide an @easwires.com email address, or set up your own domain. You can also forward your current email address to easywires.com. For business, we offer complete email hosting for multiple accounts; we can also host your web site as part of a complete outsourced hosting package.
